The classic fighting game from Capcom returns on February 17 with the release of Street Fighter IV for PS3 and XBox 360. Capcom promises an amazing experience stemming from next generation technology. The game is stilled played in a 2D perspective, but the characters and environments are in 3D. In addition, 3D camera flourishes make the game more stylistic. The six-button controls pave the way for new special moves including Super Combos and the Ultra Combo System. Original characters like Ryu and Guile are back along with some new faces such as lucha libre El Fuerte and mixed martial artist Abel. Street Fighter IV also features never before seen fighting locations and new gameplay elements that a sure to challenge new comers and seasoned veterans alike. (Thanks to Game Press for the story.)
Who loves survival horror? I love survival horror. Who does Capcom love? The people that love survival horror! Because their love for us is so great, they’ve given us a new teaser video with some excellent footage never seen before as well as some cheesy pseudo-sexual laden conversation between two people (don’t worry gang, it’s still safe for work). Skip to 1:19 to get straight to the in-game footage. Resident Evil 5 will be hitting store shelves everywhere March 13th 2009 and you can download the demo now on Xbox Live!

Here is a little video from EA showing the finer points of extorting money from helpless business owners by intimidating and brutalizing them into forking over some cash.
Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael are back in an all-new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle game slated to be released by Ubisoft in the fall of 2009. The game is being developed for the Wii by Games Arts. Ubisoft describes the potential, although not finalized title “TMNT Smash Up” as a four-player fighting action game. This will be the first TMNT game released not linked to a movie, TV show, or comic book. I hope this game lives up to the TMNT games I played throughout my childhood. I recall countless sleepovers consisting of beating Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II for NES. The TMNT franchise has been tied to solid video games for years and I hope this one is great because I will always hold a special place in my heart for those four bald green guys. EA has announced that the second installment of the popular crime/action game will be released in the US on February 24, 2009. I have waited for the second game to come out since the first time I ever played The Godfather on PS2. There was just something fun about receiving orders and carrying out “jobs” for Don Corleone. The Godfather II seeks to make players "act like a mobster, think like a don."
The first screenshots of MLB 2K9 were released by 2K Sports on Thursday. The shots feature NL Cy Young winner Tom Lincecum. The San Francisco Giant is also depicted on the front cover of the game.
Konami announced the release of Silent Hill: The Escape and DanceDanceRevolution S Lite for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch yesterday. Both games are currently available for purchase in North America through the Apple App Store. The games had to be redesigned in order to take advantage of the capabilities of the iPhone. Anthony Borquez, Vice President of Konami Mobile and Online said, "Konami Mobile is pleased to deliver some of our most beloved franchises to the iPhone while providing a range of game play depth that casual and hardcore gamers alike are sure to appreciate."
Microsoft has decided to go with some third-party vendors in an effort to support the latest versions of the Divx 7 standard that is available now. Sony's PS3 is the only console currently on the market with first-party support of the Divx codec's. With over 100 million certified Divx devices out in the wild Divx holds a large sway in the video codec market. Hopefully Microsoft will get a compatible codec on the Xbox 360 sooner rather than later to appease all the fans of uPNP sharing that has become popular in the past year or two.
