Dead Rising 2

Capcom confirmed the rumors today by announcing that they are in the development stages of Dead Rising 2 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC platforms. This is the awaited sequel to the acclaimed Dead Rising, which sold more than 1.5 million copies. With the zombie virus not being contained at the end of Dead Rising, the door is open for zombies to once again try and take over the world. The game features tens of thousands of zombies to dispatch as you see fit along with the all new Mecca of gambling for you to explore, Paradise City. A gaggle of new in-game objects gives you creative ways to take care of business. Capcom will be releasing further info soon.

The Sims 3

The widely popular and top selling PC franchise from EA is set for a worldwide PC release on June 2. The Sims 3 will also be available for Mac, iPhone, iPod Touch, as well as other mobile devices later in the summer of 2009. Russell Arons, Vice President of Marketing for EA said, “The Sims 3 will be the original IP summer blockbuster of 2009 as we build off the success of the best-selling PC franchise of all time to create awareness with both loyal Sims fans and new players.”

Final Fantasy XIII

Square Enix has not officially set a release date for FF XIII, so just watch the trailer and dream of that day.


Street Fighter IV Trailer

The trailer below from Capcom will wet the appetites of Street Fighter fans everywhere. It features game footage of all of the classic characters along with some new faces. (Thanks for the trailer Games Radar.) 

Seven New Tracks Added to the Rock Band Music Store

Harmonix and MTV Games announced the addition of seven new songs to the Rock Band Music Store. The songs will be available for download from the Xbox Live Marketplace on February 3, while the tracks will not be released to the PlayStation Store until February 5. Madden Bowl XV Champion

Antonio Bryant, a wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was crowned the champion of Madden Bowl XV on Friday night. Bryant defeated New York Giants defensive lineman Justin Tuck in the finals to win the Madden Bowl Trophy. Justin Tuck played the game with his New York Giants, while Antonio Bryant used the Dallas Cowboys. A couple of big interceptions allowed Bryant to dominate the game, which lead to the final score of 28-7. My boy Matt Stafford beat Mark Sanchez in the rookie play-in game, but he lost to Antonio Gates of the San Diego Chargers in the first round.     

Don King Boxing

2K Sports will be releasing Don King Boxing for Nintendo Wii and DS on March 31. Don King Boxing is setting a new standard for boxing games with ground breaking controls as well as a real look and feel. Play the game with the Wii Balance Board to dodge and duck blows from your opponent. Enjoy the trailer from 2K Sports below.


Halo Wars

Ensemble Studios will be releasing the latest version of the wildly popular Halo franchise on Xbox 360 on March 3. The new game Halo Wars, was designed to be a real time strategy game. The game takes place 20 years before the events of the original Halo game. Ensemble noted the importance of the story line of Halo Wars and CGI cut scenes before and after mission update your progress. These beautiful cut scenes and character detail give the game a look that certainly does justice to the rest of the Halo franchise. Apart from the look of the game it remains to be seen if Halo Wars lives up to its predecessors when it comes to gameplay and over all gaming experience. Madden Bowl XV

As Super Bowl XLIII nears, EA Sports and Xbox 360 will be hosting the 15th annual Madden Bowl tomorrow in Tampa. The 8 player tournament is made up of the brightest stars in the NFL today including incoming rookies Matthew Stafford (Georgia) and Mark Sanchez (USC). These two will play one head-to-head game of Madden NFL 09 to see who is the 8th player in the tournament. With Edgerrin James (Arizona Cardinals) and Willie Parker (Pittsburgh Steelers) participating, this is the first time in Madden Bowl history players from each Super Bowl team will be in the tournament. The NFL players will play a single elimination tournament of Madden NFL 09 on Xbox 360 and the last man standing will be awarded the EA Sports Madden Bowl Cup.
