Nintendo's Good Deed

Here is the press release from Nintendo... this is an excellent cause and I'm thrilled that companies like Nintendo use these sorts of events to do more than just raise their product awareness. Click "Read More" to read about how Nintendo is working with celebrities to fight Pediatric AIDS.

Nintendo Joins Celebrities to Benefit Pediatric AIDS

Dozens of celebrities, philanthropists and children got their hands on the new Nintendo DS(TM) Lite on Sunday during an A-list fund raiser in Los Angeles for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Celebrities like Christian Slater, Ellen Pompeo and Rachel Bilson played New Super Mario Bros. with kids in the Nintendo DS Lite Lounge on the same day that Nintendo DS Lite went on sale in the United States.

"Nintendo has a long tradition of making the lives of kids brighter, and our participation in this event underscores our commitment to the community," said George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications.

Each hour a different celebrity worked at the Nintendo DS Lite Lounge, while dozens of others worked in other areas of the "A Time for Heroes Celebrity Carnival." Every year, more than 100 Hollywood celebrities donate their time to raise money for pediatric AIDS research. This year's event was designed to raise more than $1 million.
