Sony slams critics, complains no one calls MW 2 a copy cat

Thu, 03/11/2010 - 16:40
Speaking to IGN, Shu Yoshida responded to critics who claimed that Move games have all been done before on the Wii. He asked does anyone criticize Modern Warfare despite there being loads of shooter games out there? He concluded by noting Sony is advancing the genre with different types of games. IGN: Sounds good. So this one is a bit critical. You're going to have gamers out there who say that you showed off your first titles -- ping-pong, archery, sword-fighting, boxing -- and

IGN: Move is clearly a stronger solution than Wii remote

Thu, 03/11/2010 - 16:18
Another opinion from IGN here indicates that the Move is a pretty decent solution. They claim it is clearly a stronger solution than that offered by the Wii remote and definitely has more potential. However, their opinion purposely avoided the price factor and took things on face value. However, ignoring pricing, the PlayStation Move is clearly a stronger solution than Nintendo's Wii remote, nunchuk, and Wii MotionPlus combination, and it definitely has more potential because of this

Sony: Move isn't expensive if your brother has a PS3 already

Thu, 03/11/2010 - 16:10
Silly response from Sony here. Shu Yoshida was recently asked whether Move is too much for the casual gamer. He responded suggesting it is not so long as the 'older brother' has a PS3 and then the younger sister might be able to afford the investment for Move. So from his words, it seems to suggest that it is too expensive for the casual gamer and leaves the question, what if a casual gamer has no older brother? IGN: Do you think that's going to be too much money for the

Is EA starting to ignore the Xbox 360?

Thu, 03/11/2010 - 10:41
Let's look at the facts. EA has been moving a lot more of its projects to the PS3 as the lead platform, and its commonly releasing demos on PSN before LIVE. But that's not all, Tiger Woods 11 will use Playstation MOVE but there is not a mention of Natal. Likewise, EA Active 2.0 was announced for every platform but Xbox 360. LazyGamer.za seems to think this means EA are snubbing the system, what do you think?

FT: Playstation Move unimpressive, doesn't advance on Wii

Thu, 03/11/2010 - 08:34
Ouch! Some bad criticism of the Playstation Move here from Financial Times. They claim that the demos they sampled were 'unimpressive'. Moreover, they questioned that Move was much of an advancement of the motion sensing technology offered by the Wii. Although most of the games on show were at a pre-alpha stage so it's a bit early to jump to such conlusions! Here are the bad words that had for the device:

Thu, 03/11/2010 - 08:25

Speaking on the matter, Nintendo had the following to say: Nintendo confirms that the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service have seized game copiers (commonly referred to as R4 cards) and other counterfeit Nintendo products from an importer attempting to distribute

Question: Will the Playstation Move kill of the Wii?

Thu, 03/11/2010 - 07:26
Earlier on, we all viewed the power and precision of the Playstation Move. Worryingly for Nintendo, it looks like the Move is far more accurate than the Wii remote and will offer more engaging experiences not to mention HD visuals with the PS3. And now the big question, will the Playstation Move KILL off the Wii? Have your say! There are plenty of reasons as to why the Move will kill of the Wii, namely it is more precise, there will be better and more engaging motion sensing games and there will be high definiton visuals. Not to mention Move is easy to develop for and port to which will no doubt attract large amounts of developers. And even more

SCEA: Difference with MOVE is superior technology, extension of body

Thu, 03/11/2010 - 07:15
So what makes Playstation Move special in light of all the competition? It's simple, according to Dille it's the technology it uses. SCEA's VP Peter Dille noted the combination of eye-toy and a wide range of sensors is what provides the difference. And he noted that other motion devises use the controller as a mouse or pointer, but Move becomes an extension of the body. Similarly he added that is a step-ahead of the rest and will feel the tiniest flick to the strongest punch!

The US army is reportedly planning to step up its use of video game simulations in a bid to try and reduce the amount of casualities suffered during war. An unspecified amount of funding has been granted to research how advanced in video game technology can benefit the military. Perhaps they could just play a little bit of Bad Company 2 or MW2?
